Email Already in Use

Solution

You may get the following message when trying to add a new email to your own or another author's account:

Email address [insert email] can not be added to the system!

This email is already being used.

If you see this message when attempting to add an email address to your own account, check that the email is not already added to your account by logging in and clicking on "Personal Info." You can view all email addresses on your account by clicking the "Edit/Add Email(s)" button.

If the email is not there, you may have duplicate accounts. You can contact us at Support@ssrn.com to have them consolidated. Please provide as much distinguishing information as possible that could be associated with other SSRN accounts.

If you see this message when attempting to create or update an account for another author, they most likely already have an SSRN account (or have duplicate accounts). If you are unable to find their account and need to add them to a submission or update their information, please write to Support@ssrn.com with your request and provide as much distinguishing information as possible that could be associated with the author's existing account(s).

Feel free to write to Support@ssrn.com for more assistance.
