I submitted my paper. Why is it displaying a "Not Submitted" status on my My Papers page?

Solution

Your submission may be placed back into a “Not Submitted” status by SSRN staff if one or more of the following pieces of information is missing from your original submission.

Copyright: Access and Usage Compliance

SSRN is dedicated to the advancement of science through open sharing. We are committed to providing a reliable resource for authors to rapidly disseminate their research and we encourage sharing responsibly. Responsible sharing refers to the understanding of what an author may share, when, and where. Before you post your article, we recommend checking the sharing policy of the publisher of your article or referencing your agreement.

For more information on how you can share your work responsibly, please refer to SSRN's Copyright Reference Guide.

REQUIREMENT: You should review your publishing agreement, the publisher’s copyright policies, and/or any other applicable information prior to posting any version of a paper. Written permission must be obtained from the rightsholder to re-use any copyrighted material. By visiting the publisher’s website, you can find the contact information of their permissions department. Alternatively, you may also request permission using the Copyright Clearance Center's Rightslink service provided on the webpage of the desired content.

How do I fix the problem?

If you do not hold copyright to your paper, you must obtain publisher permission and provide that permission to SSRN. If you receive permission to post a paper to SSRN, you can leave an Author Comment in the Submission Form stating that you have permission to post and that you have provided your permission documentation to SSRN Support via a Ticket. Permission can be provided in the form of a letter, email chain, or the copyright transfer agreement/publishing contract that you have signed with the publisher. If you require additional support, you may contact Copyright@ssrn.com.

English and Non-English Submissions

Your paper may be placed back into a “Not Submitted” status if you submitted a NON-ENGLISH SUBMISSION (your PDF was in a language other than English), but the submission form did not include both the English and non-English versions of the Title and Abstract.

REQUIREMENT: Include both the English and Non-English versions of the Title and Abstract in the submission form.

How do I fix the problem?

You have to revise your submission to include both an English and Non-English title and abstract. Go to your My Papers page, select the 'Edit' button next to the paper name in the 'In Process Papers' section. Once in the submission form, provide both an English and Non-English version of the Title and the Abstract and click 'Submit to SSRN'.
