I don't remember submitting my paper to First Look

First Look was designed as a tool for published journals to have a presence in the world of preprints, but it can be beneficial to other research outlets as well. The Equity in STEM First Look is a prime example. This First Look is a partnership with an academic research organization looking for a place to collect and promote research from its members. So, while designed for journals, this First Look is a place for any group looking to showcase and promote early-stage research.

Do papers stay on First Look for a specific amount of time?

Papers stay on First Look forever, except for specific circumstances, such as an author’s request for removal. A paper’s status may change, but it will not be removed, even if rejected from publication. All papers remain on First Look unless they are requested to be removed by the author or the owner (journal) of the First Look.
